Bradford City “very keen” on deal for Blackpool midfielder

According to The Sun journalist Alan Nixon, League Two side Bradford City are “very keen” to sign midfielder Jamie Devitt – who only completed a move to League One outfit Blackpool earlier this summer.

Former Blackpool manager Terry McPhillips completed a deal to sign midfielder Jamie Devitt from Carlisle United on a free transfer earlier this summer. However, he could be set to leave the club before the end of the transfer window with him seemingly not being in the plans of new boss Simon Grayson.

Devitt is yet to feature in any of Blackpool’s games this season and speculation has been sparked claiming that he could make a surprise move away from the club just a matter of months after making the move to Bloomfield Road. Journalist Alan Nixon revealed Bradford City are among those keen to strike a deal for Devitt but are not alone in their pursuit. He said:

Devitt, 29, started his career in the youth academy at Hull City and after coming through their youth ranks, he spent the next few seasons out on loan in the Football League. The attacking midfielder spent time on loan with Darlington, Shrewsbury Town, Grimsby Town, Bradford City, Accrington Stanley, Rotherham United and spent a second spell with Grimsby before leaving Hull on a free transfer in 2013 to join Chesterfield.

After a brief stint with Chesterfield, he spent two and a half years with Morecambe before leaving to join Carlisle United, where Devitt remained until earlier this summer. He has amassed 329 career appearances along the way, scoring 48 goals and providing 59 assists in the process.
