Derby and Middlesbrough among clubs chasing Newcastle midfielder

Accrington Stanley loanee Daniel Barlaser could find himself in the Championship next season as a host of clubs chase his signature upon his imminent departure from Newcastle United, report the Daily Mail.

Barlaser is currently impressing on loan in League One, where despite the fact his side has won only two games since late October, he is continuing to impress in a Stanley shirt, where he has been a regular fixture so far this season.

The 21 year-old has featured just three times for The Magpies’ first-team but is somewhat a veteran of their under-23 side, where he has pulled on a black-and-white shirt over 80 times.

He has grown tired with lack of opportunities at St James’ Park and as a result he is willing to let the final six months of his deal run out in order to secure himself a move elsewhere, and many clubs in the second tier are interested in his services.

However, those final six months will be spent at the Wham Stadium, after it was confirmed today that Barlaser’s loan stay at the club will extend until the season’s end, rather than this month.

The Turkey and England youth international is now attracting interest from the likes of Middlesbrough, Derby, Preston and Wigan who are aware of his contract situation at St James’ Park.

Barlaser is a dynamic midfielder, who is technically gifted and can also play in a holding role. He has sparingly been used as a winger and a number ten.

Accrington Stanley face Ipswich Town in the FA Cup Third Round this Saturday.
